Don't be misleading by the name of this activity.  Yeah, there is some cleanup involved, but it is really a gathering of good folks of like interests to share in the latest news about fishing, and to enjoy the finest freshly baked muffins with fresh perked coffee.  Want to know a new place to fish?  You'll find it here.  Looking for a partner with whom to go out on the streams?  He/she will most likely be here looking for the same.  Just want to get to know some good PCTU folks?  This is the event.

The highway, Rt. 276, parallels the Davidson River, our adopted stream.  It is only fitting that we also care for this highway which runs alongside our home water, 3 miles of the Catch & Release section.    We have divided it into half mile sections which are clearly marked, and usually two persons take responsibility for one section.  It ends up being a leisurely walk along a beautiful road with the river in sight, and allows you to scout some good water for later fishing.  In fact many bring their rods with them, and top off the day with some fishing after the cleanup.

The actual cleanup usually takes less than an hour.  The social gathering up front takes about the same amount of time.  Everything is furnished including “grabbers”, gloves, bright colored vests, and some fine trash bags.  The start time is usually 9:00 AM, allowing plenty of time for lunch plans or for getting onto the stream.  You can even hang around and eat some more of those fine muffins which have become a trademark of this event.  This event occurs only 4 times per year.  Don't miss out.
