Adopt-a-Highway - Since 1998, the Pisgah Chapter has conducted quarterly cleanups of a 3-mile section of US 276 along the Davidson River.
Annual Fly Fishing School - Considered one of the best schools in the Southeast, the school is offered each year in April at Harmon Field in Tryon, NC. For more information, click on the link; to enroll, print the form and mail.
Davidson River Project - Since 2001, the Chapter has undertaken a long-term project of assessing, monitoring and remediating 11 miles of the Davidson River in Transylvania County.
Delayed-Harvest Stockings - In March, April, May, October and November each year, PCTU assists the NCWRC with stocking the Green River in Polk County and the Little River in DuPont State Forest.
Kids' Fishing Day - Chapter volunteers mentor students from our Trout-in-the-Classroom program, teaching them to fish in a generously-stocked pond. The students take the cleaned fish home.
Trout-in-the-Classroom - Pisgah Chapter sponsors programs in eight schools in Polk, Henderson and Transylvania Counties where students raise trout from eggs, then release them in nearby streams.
Casting Carolinas - PCTU provides funds and volunteers to assist with this program that provides an opportunity for women experiencing breast cancer to meet new friends, network, exchange information and have fun in a natural setting while learning the sport of fly fishing. Project Healing Waters - Another volunteer opportunity for our Chapter, dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled military personnel and veterans through fly fishing. NCTU Rivercourse - Pisgah Chapter provides financial support and volunteer staff members to support this TU conservation and fly fishing camp for boys and girls 13-15 years of age in June each year.
