Trout by Alan Folger
Kids' Fishing Day is an annual event held on the 1st. and 3rd. Saturdays in May  It is sponsored by the Pisgah Chapter of TU  offering kids between the ages of 8-15 for a chance to catch trout. This event is made possible by the generous contribution of a TU member (Dr. Stu Cohn), who stocks his pond with trout each Spring.  Kids from the Hendersonville or Brevard  Boys and Girls Club participate on the 1st. Sat. and special needs kids from Faith Link in Hendersonville participate on the 3rd. Sat. Each of the kids will have an adult "fishing buddy" consisting of TU members, offering companionship and help with fishing when needed.  Both the kids and TU members generally have a blast, since many of the kids have  never fished before. Besides fishing, the kids also enjoy a nice hot-dog lunch.
